Melissa is a licensed attorney who joined Cadence’s Asset Management & Trust team in 2021.

Melissa has a long and successful history of serving communities with disabilities, including serving as Vice President of the Friends of Down Syndrome (“FDS”); volunteering with the Houston Bar Association Special Olympic Committee, the Brenham State Supported Living Center, and the Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason program for FDS.

Prior to joining Cadence, Melissa represented clients in Probate, Guardianship, Housing, Trust & Estates, Family Law, and Education matters. Melissa’s background and experience in supporting families with disabilities provides a unique perspective in navigating legal and personal trust administration issues.

Melissa graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minor in Writing from Texas State University. She received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
