Thomas Ahrens, JD is the President and CEO of Legal Directives. A former estate planning attorney and former WealthCounsel member, Thomas has spent more than 20 years helping estate planning attorneys improve client engagement, elevate the client experience, and build sustainable practices. 

Thomas previously served as Director of Education at WealthCounsel, where he developed estate planning curriculum and trained thousands of attorneys. Today, he consults with estate planning firms across the country on client experience, ongoing engagement, and practice growth.

He founded Legal Directives in 2007 after seeing firsthand that clients often could not locate their healthcare directives when they were needed most. Legal Directives now works with hundreds of estate planning law firms and nonprofit organizations nationwide.
