Speaker Bio

Pamela Duffy is the type of lawyer that is often referred to as a “powerhouse attorney.” She has served as a formidable advocate for her clients since becoming an attorney over 30 years ago and her energy and enthusiasm for her clients and legal practice continue to grow. Additionally, Pam serves as the firm’s general counsel, handling issues of ethics and professional responsibility and is a member of its management committee.

Unlike most lawyers, Pamela decided she wanted to practice law in grade school, and never changed her mind. Her practice focuses on fiduciary litigation including trust, estate, and power of attorney disputes, as well as business and complex commercial litigation such as business ownership disputes, unfair trade practices, contract disputes, and noncompete litigation. Pamela has tried cases in both jury and bench trials and has handled appeals in both state and federal courts. Additionally, she is a strong proponent of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and is a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC) Certified Superior Court Mediator and is also certified to mediate matters before the Clerk.

Pamela enjoys not only understanding the legal aspects of a case, but gaining an understanding of her client’s business operations and delving into industry standards and best business practices for each client. She is also a strategic thinker and quickly learns her clients’ goals to ensure the most effective legal representation in each case. When working with individuals and families in her fiduciary practice, Pamela understands that building strong relationships based on trust is imperative. Whether she’s representing corporations or individuals, her emphasis is always the same — laser focused on the clients’ best interest and listening carefully to understand and carry out her clients’ goals.

Pamela is an avid reader and feels that much like the books she reads, “every case is a story.” She feels her responsibility is to help her clients write the best ending for their story. In addition to reading, Pam also enjoys cooking, especially trying out new cuisines. She, her husband and two children love to travel both domestically and internationally, and have visited Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Canada, and the American “Wild West” together.
