Pour-over wills, for decades a part of estate planning, are typically treated as instruments ancillary to their companion revocable trusts.  However, without these powerful documents, a client's assets could end up ultimately distributed to the wrong individuals. In this seminar, the attendees will learn the intrinsic power of pour-over wills in planning and in administration. During this seminar, the attendees will also learn about: 
  • Testamentary additions to trusts
  • Pour-over vs. incorporation by reference
  • Trust revival by pour-over will
  • Pour-over will and the statutory share
  • Uniformity of construction checklist and impact on trust administration
