Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Description

From contested will and trust litigation to guardianship, protective measures, and more, attorneys must be ready to maneuver the unique challenges presented in court. In this session, learn the court practices you should implement and those you should avoid from an expert who has conducted hundreds of trials as both a lawyer and a judge. In addition to years of overseeing court proceedings, Judge Michael Newman, Probate Court No. 2 Judge of Harris County, Texas, and Visiting Statutory Probate Court Judge, has also conducted over 600 mediations. Attendees will learn how to handle situations involving elder abuse and financial exploitation; choose the right posture for advocating in judicial proceedings; and implement proactive solutions to keep themselves and their clients out of court altogether—or be successful if it becomes necessary.
