This presentation addresses the building blocks of asset protection. The presenter will examine a variety of topics to provide background for attendees of all experience levels and to create a foundation for later sessions, which will address certain topics in greater detail. This session will cover the following: various ways to create asset protection from asset transfers, tax considerations of complete versus incomplete gifts, insurance, spendthrift clauses, asset protection trust structures, and limited liability companies. Fraudulent conveyances and voidable transfers will also be addressed.
