This choice has long-lasting consequences, and attorneys and clients often struggle to find the best path forward. With many differing fiduciary roles arising in the context of elder law, attendees will learn and be better prepared to

• counsel the client on selecting the right fiduciary for the situation;
• provide for checks and balances among multiple fiduciaries, plan for inevitable transitions and the unfortunate occasion of malfeasance or dissatisfaction, and ensure fiduciaries remain accountable; and
• draft estate planning documents to align with the principal’s intentions.
