Firearms Planning and Administration
Tuesday, July 14, 2026, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Eastern Time
Presenter: James P. Alder, JD
Firearms are commonly owned assets, with an estimated 300 million or more in circulation. Gun owners often do not know all of the federal and state rules for lawful possession and transfer. Although a gun trust may be useful, when firearms are not appropriately planned for, it can be problematic. In this session, we will review relevant laws and best practices for administering firearms in an estate, as well as discuss the benefits of a gun trust and recent developments under the National Firearms Act.
