Vetting AI Tools
Tuesday, November 10, 2026, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET
Presenter: Donna Rinck, Esq.

Your clients trust you with their most private information, and the AI tools your office uses may be handling it in ways you have not verified. In this practical session, you will learn a repeatable way to vet any AI tool before client information goes near it, what to read in the terms, which settings matter, how memory and agent features change the risk, and why the AI you are using may not be current. The session will also cover recent court decisions on privilege and provide client consent language you can use in your engagement letters.

You will come away with the following:

  • A repeatable checklist to vet any AI tool before client information touches it
  • What to look for regarding data retention, training on your inputs, memory, and terms of service
  • Clear rules for what client information stays out of AI tools and the settings to change
  • How agents, connectors, and AI browsing add risk, and how to protect confidentiality and privilege
  • A ready-to-use client consent clause for an engagement letter stating that the client consents to your use of AI and warns the client about the risks of their own AI use
